About the Artist

I am a native Texan, raised in the Houston area, surrounded by loving family and friends. My interest in art began in high school, with my first painting class. Since then, almost every day has included several hours of painting. I received my BA in Art (and another in History) from Houston Baptist University, in 2008.

I believe that once we are here on Earth, we’re really never gone, because we live on in memories of loved ones and through our expressed creativity. Such as art - through which we leave a little piece of ourselves behind in time, for others to enjoy, or to simply capture a moment in time.

Brushes, paints, fabrics, photographs, color and form are tools to interpret all that is our world. I am intrigued by human relationships and passion. The way in which people interact through body language and emotions is so fascinating and beautiful, that it can only be explained by the complexity in which God created mankind.

Not one detail of this world can be overlooked for its splendor and function. Often when I feel overwhelmed by emotion - whether it's peace, anger, love, or confusion, I find the desire to create. In this process I take a journey into my imagination, into a world where I have the control to mold and create, and I allow myself to escape through free expression.

The goal of my artwork is to invite someone, even if only for a moment, to glance into the imaginary and feel the freedom of being an unbound spirit in God's world of color and creation.
